George Allen Torbert Jr. & the former Fabre Lissette Joyce were each born at Mercy Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Ironically, they did not meet in the city in which they were born. The native Floridians met in San Antonio, Texas while both served in the United States Army . They were married on August 31, 1987. The Torbert’s have four children: Eris, 23; Micah, 18; Norielle, 17; and Megan, 16. On August 13, 2003, Eris, their oldest daughter, gave birth to their first grandchild, Xavier Jeremiah Thornton. |

Fabre (pronounced Fa-bray) Torbert received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on November 16, 1986, while in the military. It was while balancing her marriage, family and career that Fabre made a dramatic decision. Fabre felt impressed to leave the military and devote her full attention to rearing her children. After prayerful deliberation, Fabre set aside her career and become a stay-at-home mom. Ministering to her family was an arduous task, but Fabre now understands that building godly character within her children was more important than building a career. Eris, the Torbert’s eldest daughter, recently completed her second year of college and continues to pursue a pre-law degree. Their second child, Micah, is a graduate of Aberdeen High School (class of 2007) and will attend college as a full-time student in fall 2007. Daughters, Norielle & Megan-Danielle, continue to attend Aberdeen High School. Norielle will begin her senior year and Megan-Danielle will start her junior year in Fall 2007. Pastor George remarked, “I can take very little credit for our children’s academic success. Fabre is committed to ensuring that our children receive a quality education. She volunteered for countless hours at their schools and continues to work tirelessly with them at home. I take every compliment that I get on our children’s character and conduct back to it’s rightful owner: my wife Fabre”. Fabre Torbert received her ministerial license on March 27, 2004. She serves as Co-Pastor of Faith Worship Center Ministries, supervising Christian youth education. |
